Tourism FSM is taking the lead for the Pacific Regional Commitment toward Sustainable Tourism Commitment by being the first signatory for such Commitments in October during the Pacific Tourism Leaders Zoom Conference because we realized as an emerging destination, "A Paradise in Our Own Backyards", where the hidden, unspoiled and pristine gems which are our natural, cultural and heritage resources that have always been our source of livelihoods. The pandemic has reminded us of our responsibility in protecting such resources for our generations to come therefore we recognize the global efforts at the COP26 and become the 1st Pacific Island Country to sign up for the Glasgow Declaration Climate Action in Tourism on November 4th, 2021.
