Today, our world is ever changing and marketers throughout the travel industry face a myriad of challenges. We must create informed and caring messages during these times of crises but we also must prepare ourselves to welcome visitors should the time come. Our competition is no longer with our sister islands, or our sister regions…but with the rest of the world. With pent up demand for travel and people wanting to “get away”, our Micronesian region must be ready to showcase the best in our destinations yet also market ourselves as being cooperative, diligent, caring and responsible. The road to recovery will be a long one and our committee is exploring new ideas and technologies that will constantly remind the world that our beautiful islands in the Pacific Ocean exist and are worth a visit. The key is to remain visible and as this world slowly awakens we must position ourselves on the starting line. One example of this is to invest in your digital footprint and join conversations, tell stories, highlight your regions sights and sounds continuously remind the world that PATA Micronesia members are the pearls of the Pacific.
